Yes, we had a long letter in the control panel left as a note to let us know that there are some teething problems, because the uptake of the site was a lot faster then they had expected.

In my opinion, that’s probably the case, because even though John Reese would have anticipated the news to spread fast, he’s probably underestimated his influence. A lot of marketers will have signed up, just ’cause it’s his name behind it…

Hopefully they’ll pick themselves up soon, before people start getting peeved.

I know this type of service comes with a lot of ‘ifs’ and ‘what ifs’ - especially from a techie crowd, but it’s free and I’m really curious to see where it takes us :o)

Has anyone had issues with the “we’re currently experiencing technical issues” aspect of BlogRush? I have seen it happen on this blog twice at least. Maybe an overload with just getting started?

I have to admit that while it is not showing any SEO-relevant posts for me, if it did I can see it driving huge amounts of traffic as I’m always looking for new sources of opinion and news.

Maybe the act that the widget displays relevant stories from blogs rather than blog names will make the widget more clickable - as then it’s not an ad but just some relevant content.

Obviously it remains to be seen how accurately they can match the content of a post to the stories out there…

It’ll be interesting to see if this takes off or not. I think it’s worth trying, but I have a feeling many people will ignore it like an ad. Although, it might do better for people outside the “marketing/seo” blogosphere.
