Couldn’t agree more with this post – I recently quit my part-time job to concentrate on my own company… was nice to have the secure income, but I was getting soooo stressed out! Working every evening and weekend to get all the client work done. So I decided I had to bite the bullet otherwise I would have total melt down in a couple of years!

My tip would be – on a day when things are getting on top of you/you’re feeling the strain – go out! Go for a walk, go and get a coffee – just get away from the computer screen. As tempting as it is to think “I’ve got so much to do, I can’t spare the time today to get some fresh air” it makes you so much more productive if you do! I did it last week (my first week of complete self-employed ness) and I finished the day early, having achieved all that I’d intended to, even with a stylesheet crisis along the way! lx

Thanks for the kick in the privates. Actually my wife has been kicking of late and I’m taking 2 weeks off. Off as in all off line. No computer, no crack berry, no nothing. I haven’t done that in, well……..never done that since before the internet and cell phones (yeah I’m that old).

Doug – I know what you mean! And yes getting your hear done was a great way for me to relax too – but now hairdressers just seem to have a mind of their own… So it’s like going to the dentist for me now… yes I have issues )

Garrett, better yet, put a reminder in your calendar to “take out Jeep” more often! LOL
