I don't think that the social media sites can benefit a website for its basic - search quesries on SE.

My instance is that when you stop promoting the site the source dries out - you gain some returning visitors and links but that whould be your corner stone.

Have a look at this:

Then have a look at this:
http://www.seo-chicks.com/666/key-insights-from-keyrelevances-christine-churchill.html

At the end of this blog post there is an <em> opened somewhere and it makes all the page two of this blog go italic. See for yourself:
http://www.seo-chicks.com/page/2

You also made the comments in italic. :)

Otherwise, thanks for blogging, it's great work!

I am not a programmer nor do I really know all the technicalities of SEO, but I'm learning from wonderful women like yourselves. Great interview, thanks!

In trying to sell my paintings on Etsy and my blog, the information about optimization and niche marketing becomes very relevant.

Thanks again.

Thanks for all the positive words. You all are too kind.

In the course of doing the interview, I had the pleasure of getting to know Julie Joyce and discovered what an amazing lady she is. We emailed back and forth a number of times and I was continually impressed how she stayed positive and upbeat no matter what was going on. Through these exchanges, Julie and I bonded and the next thing I knew we were like sisters sharing personal thoughts and experiences. I’m glad she asked me to do the interview. My reward was getting to meet a kindred spirit and one of the most heartwarming people in the industry. Thank you Julie.

Lyndon – It was great to meet you at SMX London. I found it amazing that you had done extensive research on South Pacific islands and were familiar with the Marshall Islands where I used to live. It’s such a remote place not many people even know they exist, much less where they are located on a map. Next time we speak I’ll have to tell you about living in a tent in the jungles of Central America…...

Shawn, thanks for mentioning the DFWSEM. This is another local group I have been active in. The DFWSEM is a Dallas based search marketing association. I’ve been on the Board of Directors of it since we founded it and I am currently the Chairman (Chairperson?) of the organization. If you’re in Dallas or heading there on travel, check out the web site at http://www.dfwsem.org for our next meeting. We'd love to see you there.

Good stuff. I met Christine for the first time at SMX London also and she suitably impressed. I would have liked to have talked more.

"I think if people slowed down and proof read their post before pressing enter, it might save them some embarrassment and heart ache."

Yeah but that's the fun part of blogging ;)

Good interview Julie, and it was cool meeting you too.

Did my comment get kicked? That's discrimination! OK, maybe it was the shameless plug for the local SEO group.

Let me try again.

All I can say is amen to all the accolades for Christine. Wonderful work for many years.

I have to agree totally with the gushing regarding Christine. Here in the Dallas area we have had the benefit of her insights for quite some time. Her knowledge and energy helped propel the industry to new heights around here.

I have had the benefit of hearing Christine speak at many DFWSEM (www.dfwsem.org) meetings and always found her to be fascinating.

Great interview, Julie, makes for a very interesting read - and educational too - for me anyway :o)

My favourite is the 3 to last question - who remembers the times when Google wasn't around?...aaahhh...
